GUEST CONDUCTOR - Jacob frank
Jacob Frank began his study of the violin at the age of 10 with local violin teacher, Barbara Pettey. He has also studied the violin with instructors Alberto Jaffé, Viljar Weimann, and Achim Gerber. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Church Music from Bob Jones University.
Mr. Frank has been a guest clinician at various workshops in the area, most notably as guest conductor for the ASTA Honors Festival in Tuscaloosa and the UNA Honors Festival in Florence, as well as part of the string faculty of the Tennessee Valley Music Festival in Huntsville. During most days, he stays busy teaching privately, conducting various orchestras, providing music for local weddings and parties, and performing with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra. Jacob has been the concertmaster of the Decatur Orchestra Sul Ponticello since its inception, and has been a guest soloist with it on a number of occasions.
Besides playing and teaching violin, Mr. Frank thoroughly enjoys conducting. He is currently the conductor and Artistic Director of the Decatur Youth Symphony Orchestra, and many of its advanced players often perform alongside the members of the Decatur Orchestra Sul Ponticello. As Artistic Director of the DYS, he is thrilled to be helping kids flourish as musicians. In his spare time, Jacob enjoys spending time with his family; his wife Kelly, and children Lily, Levi, Asher, Ava, Ezra, Ella, Shiloh and Simeon.
Soloist: Jennifer Case - Oboe
Oboist Jennifer Scott Case returned to Huntsville, AL after spending nearly ten years performing in New York City. With a great passion for orchestral performance, Ms. Case holds the position of Second Oboe with the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra and also Second Oboe/English horn with the Sarasota Opera Orchestra. While in New York, Ms. Case performed with the New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center and has performed with numerous other orchestras.
As an active chamber musician, she is a founding member of the Tennessee Valley Music Festival Woodwind Quintet, which won Second Place in The American Prize in Chamber Music Performance for 2020-21. She was also a founding member of Harmonie Huntsville, a double reed duo with a mission to explore and share double reed repertoire while collaborating with innovative composers and musicians from the Tennessee Valley and beyond. In 2009 she gave a full-length concert with the Sonevole Woodwind Quintet at St. Patrick's Cathedral before traveling to France and advancing in the Henri Tomasi Woodwind Quintet Competition. This group went on to form the Troika Reed Trio, which enjoyed numerous innovative performances throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Ms. Case completed a Bachelor of Music at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music as a student of Dr. Mark Ostoich. She earned a Master of Music at Mannes College, where she studied with Sherry Sylar, Associate Principal Oboe with the New York Philharmonic. She made her New York orchestral solo debut in 2007 performing the Goossens Oboe Concerto with the Mannes Orchestra.
In addition to teaching oboe and woodwind quintet at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Ms. Case has developed a large private studio and is Oboe Instructor for the Tennessee Valley Music Festival.
Soloist: Charles Page - Flute
Mr. Page’s primary teachers are Dr. Brad Garner (Juilliard/CCM/NYU) and Dr. Diane Schultz (UA) and at New York University he took weekly classes with extended technique expert Robert Dick and technique and repertoire classes with Keith Underwood.
Revered as an ardent educator, Mr. Page’s students have enjoyed numerous successes including scholarships for summer music festivals, colleges, competitions, top chairs at all-state band and recitals at Carnegie Hall among numerous other awards. As an educator, Page has taught flute and piccolo classes at New York University, University of Alabama Huntsville, Alabama A&M University, and University of North Alabama.
Being an active and competitive musician, Charles has won competitions at the National Flute Association, Federation of Music Clubs, Louisiana Flute Society, Midsouth Flute Festival, Kentucky Flute Society and New York University's concerto competition.
Equally in demand as an orchestral and wind band flutist and piccoloist, Mr. Page has been invited to play with the Memphis Symphony, Wilmington Symphony, Florence Symphony, Shoals Symphony, Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Sul Ponticello, Montgomery Symphony, Huntsville Symphony, Ars Nova Opera, Huntsville Opera, Appalachia: A Southeastern Wind Symphony, Alabama Winds, and Twickenham Winds, among others.
When not playing the flute or teaching, Mr. Page enjoys writing songs, singing, visual arts, and spending time with his toy poodle, Claudine. He is working on some exciting projects to be released soon!
Renowned flute pedagogue and performer, Charles Page is the Instructor of Flute at Alabama A&M and is under fellowship to obtain a doctoral degree in flute performance with cognates in Theory and History at the University of Alabama with Dr. Diane Boyd Schultz. Previously, he attended New York University as a teaching assistant and the University of Alabama for his undergraduate degree.

GUEST CONDUCTOR - Elias salazar
Salazar recently served a five-season tenure as Artistic Director and Conductor of the Trevecca Symphony Orchestra and held the post of Music Director of the Belmont University Opera for the 2021-2022 season.
He also recently completed an impactful 10-year tenure as the Director of Choral and Orchestral Music at Ensworth School where he also founded and directed the Ensworth School of Music. His dynamic and innovative approach to education helped the school’s music program flourish during his tenure.
Salazar’s professional affiliations include serving as the Contemporary Music Chair on the board of the Tennessee American Choral Directors Association, as a member of the Board of Directors for the Gateway Chamber Orchestra, and as a member of the Leadership and Action Council for the Nashville Singers. Elias currently serves on the board of the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra.
Salazar’s conducting experience further includes a two-season tenure as Conducting Fellow with the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra under Dr. Christopher Norton, a season as Interim Music Director for the Music City Youth Orchestra, and numerous guest conducting engagements with groups such as the Tennessee Philharmonic Orchestra, the Nashville Cinematic Symphony, and various university ensembles. In 2014, Salazar founded the Nashville Collegiate Orchestra and led the group as Founding Artistic Director until 2020.
Beyond his orchestral conducting roles, Elias is a professional trumpet player and performs as a vocalist with the acclaimed Portara Ensemble - featured at the 2017, 2018, and 2023 CMA Awards and the 2018 CMA Country Christmas program. He also currently serves as Associate Music Director and Choir Director of The Village Chapel.
Educated at Belmont University, Salazar double-majored in Music Education and Classical Performance with a trumpet emphasis. He studied conducting under Drs. Jeffery Ames, Robert Gregg, Barry Kraus, and Jane Warren and trumpet under Dr. Joel Treybig.
Driven by a passion for education, community, and conducting, Salazar strives for excellence and joy in his technique, preparation, interpretation, and performances. His dream is to lead world-class ensembles unwaveringly into their communities and to inspire audiences worldwide through exhilarating and unforgettable performances.
Elias Salazar is a distinguished Venezuelan American conductor residing in Nashville, Tennessee. Known for his "precision, clarity, energy, and passion" on the podium, he has significantly impacted the Nashville music community for over a decade. Salazar is currently the Founding Music Director of the Nashville Civic Orchestra, a new symphony orchestra project in Nashville which will focus on music education initiatives as well as serving emerging artists and living composers. The orchestra is expected to hold its inaugural concert in fall of 2026.

GUEST CONDUCTOR - kelly corcoran
Named “Best Classical Conductor” by the Nashville Scene, Kelly Corcoran is Artistic Director & Conductor of Intersection, a contemporary music ensemble now in its 12th season in Nashville. Corcoran founded the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted the Nashville Symphony in hundreds of performances for seven seasons as Associate Conductor, and four seasons as Director of the Symphony Chorus. A frequent guest conductor, she made her Ravinia debut in 2024, and has conducted many major orchestras with return engagements including The Cleveland Orchestra, the Atlanta, Detroit, Houston and National Symphonies, and orchestras in Argentina, England, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, Mexico and Chile.
Corcoran has worked with artists such as Bela Fleck, Leslie Odom Jr. and Amy Grant and conducted National Geographic's Symphony for our World international tour. A graduate of Boston Conservatory and Indiana University, an alum of the Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship, the New World Symphony and the Lucerne Festival with Pierre Boulez, her primary mentors are Leonard Slatkin and Marin Alsop. Additionally, Corcoran has served on the music faculty at Middle Tennessee State University and Lipscomb University and is a current member of the Advisory Council for Music Makes Us (supporting music education) and Nashville’s Health Equity Workgroup. Kelly completed her Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Behavior from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and works extensively in arts and health. She is a Social Scientist at the Music Cognition Lab at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and a leader in the Musicality Genomics Consortium. GUEST CONDUCTOR - terry lowry
As both pianist and conductor, Mr. Lowry maintains a very busy performing schedule. A Steinway Artist, he has performed over 1000 solo piano recitals throughout North America and Europe and he has appeared on the podium in the United States, Germany, Austria, Spain, and Italy. He is the Conductor and Music Director of the Carroll Symphony Orchestra, the Carrollton Jazz Orchestra, the Carrollton Wind Ensemble, Carroll County Community Chorus, the Carroll Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the pianist of the chamber ensemble Atlanta by Six. His performance repertoire ranges from Thomas Tallis to composers born in the 21st Century, and - harkening back to the days of the composer-virtuoso - he often closes his programs with improvisations on themes provided to him by the audience. He has released 17 albums, including a 2021 recording of Beethoven’s Hammerklavier. His recordings may be heard on all the major streaming platforms.
In 2012 he co-founded the online community Musical Overture and continues to serve as its Founder. Musical Overture is a digital platform that helps musicians connect and play together online with virtually no lag time through its Gig Room application.
He is the Executive Producer of the award winning film (and upcoming docu-series), Hear Us, which premiered across North America in 2018, and he worked as producer on over 50 episodes of the syndicated radio program The Hymn of the Week with Larry Frazier.
Captain Lowry serves in the Georgia State Defense Force as Executive Officer of the GSDF Band.
He lives with his wife, Tara, and their five children in Carrollton, a suburb of Atlanta.
Terry Lowry is the composer of over 200 works, including symphonies, concertos, oratorios, chamber works, song cycles and numerous works for solo instruments, especially piano. His iTunes podcast, Tone Poem, through which he often releases new compositions, has subscribers in over 100 countries. He was the Georgia Music Teacher Association Commissioned Composer for 2019.
